Precious Memories Support Ministry

Many times new ministries are born because someone has gone through a valley. As a pastor and missionary with over 55 years experience…and now having gone through the valley of losing my dear wife Dixie, I have a burden to help others who have or are going through this deep valley. Who else can help others more than one who has experienced first hand the deep grief that comes from losing your life’s mate?

With that in mind, Baptist Temple of Springfield, Missouri with the help of Rev. Bill Hathaway and Rev. Vernon Longstaff has started this new ministry which we are calling “Precious Memories.”

The purpose of this ministry is for encouragement. People who have lost spouses come together to eat and to enjoy the fellowship of others who have gone through this valley and who understand each other. Following a meal, a devotion time is held and a message geared to helping overcome deep grief is given. For the most part, Bill or Vernon will give these devotions. Between them they have over 100 years experience in the ministry, but more than that, they both understand first-hand the loneliness of sorrow.

The Bible says, “Sorrow not as those who have no hope.” The Precious Memories Support Ministry can help you overcome. Bill and Vernon are always ready to help you and you are free to contact them at any time.
This ministry is open to anyone. You don’t have to be a member ofBaptist Temple. Call the church office [(417) 831-2631] for dates and times.
